Dear everybody that gets this letter,
Hope you're all doing well!
A bit slow this week, but mostly because we were hardly out at all! Tuesday, we went to the temple, Wednesday, we had to take an emergency trip to see a doctor for Elder Low, who's got a swollen pancreas (he's fine and getting it taken care of), Thursday we had our regular meetings and planning, and then Friday was zone conference. I think we only had 2 full proselyting days, but we still got some good work done.
Thia is looking fantastic. The whole ward is so excited for him to be baptized this Sunday. We called to set up the font and they had already scheduled it for us! They also had already started assigning a few talks and everything! It’s awesome. Thia’s just got so much support from the ward! It really has strengthened our testimonies of working with members. This is something that we've taken a second look at as we've been trying to figure out how we can find new investigators and then ultimately, how we can help them progress. We're really going to try and have a member at every lesson, just like we should be doing. We plotted where everyone in the ward lives on a map- all military style and everything- so we can easily find good fellowships based on not only similar personalities and situations, but also geography. In order for our investigators to progress they need to get to church. And getting people to church has been a bit of a reoccurring problem for our area because, for a lot of our investigators, our meetinghouse is quite a drive. We figured if we can get the members that live close by, who will be going anyways, to squeeze a few more people in their car, it could really help our investigators. We'll see what happens with this. If nothing else we've got an awesome map which makes our room look legit! Seriously though, this map has been a huge help so far.
Also on P-day this week, Sunraa gave us a HUGE picture. We moved it into our apartment and it looks great. It’s a picture of a "Monorome" which is a waterfall in Cambodia. (It’s also the name of Sunraa's old restaurant.) It is so cool! Basically we're all set. Oh, but we're also going to try and get a Cambodian flag. Every morning while we're studying I just look up and see our sweet map and the picture of this Cambodian waterfall, and it makes me think of the amazing people we get to serve each day. It makes me want to study harder! :)
Anyways, everything else is great. Elder Sturgell is truly living up to his name. He is amazing! We work well together and have a good time. This week is transfers so it'll be interesting to see what happens. We might get a third member to our companionship, but we'll have to see.
