Thanksgiving -- TWICE, and very thankFULL!

Hello!
So another great week here.
Thanksgiving was a lot of fun! We got to teach Thia in the morning and then had a planning meeting in between our two dinner appointments. The first was actually a Tongan Thanksgiving. There was crab, terro, a fully roasted pig, sweet potatoes (oh man, I missed your sweet potatoes mom!), raw fish salad, the whole works! It was a unique, fun experience though. The pig was amazing! We were completely stuffed, but then four hours later we went over to Sunraa's house for round two. Since Asians don't know how to make turkey and stuffing and potatoes and all that we actually cooked for them. I think we did alright. Everyone seemed happy. I’ve included a picture here. Unfortunately some of the people had already left at the point where we took the picture, but it at least gives you an idea of most of the people who came. It was really good just being able to talk to people and enjoy the evening.

We had another week full of lots of teaching opportunities. Remember that guy, Thia who said he wanted to be baptized? Well we met with him almost every day this week and it’s looking very promising for him to be baptized on the 2nd! Isn’t that cool?  He's just so prepared. He says he already knows it's all true just from coming to church and from his experiences with the church through his family. He's been really accepting of everything we're teaching him, and he's keeping all his commitments. We so glad that he also has a lot of really great questions, and he really wants to understand. It's awesome!
This week we also got to meet with several of our other investigators that we don't always get to see regularly, which was good. They're all still pretty new though so we are seeing where they will go with everything.
We actually had a funny experience as we were walking out of Thia's house one day. Just as we were coming out we heard, "Come out with your hands up and you will not be harmed!" It was so loud and since we had just come out of his house it seemed as though they were talking to us. We almost put our hands up, but realized the voice wasn’t talking to us.  However, just down the street there were like 10 cops surrounding this house with their guns out and everything. And there was a police helicopter flying in figure eights overhead. It was pretty crazy!
Well, Elder Sturgell and I just keep working hard and we are having fun working together.

I hope everyone has a good week!
Elder Hicken
