What's Up Around Cambodia Town!

Dear family and friends,  

Hello.  Another full week of teaching opportunities. Heng came to church! That was great because we only got to meet with him once this week. This Word of Wisdom thing is definitely going to be a challenge for him. He said on Friday he doesn't think he can do it. Hopefully, he'll continue to meet with us so we can make progress together.

Tracting has proved to actually be more of an effective finding activity for us than we had  thought. We tracted for about two solid afternoons this week and realized we were getting into 50% of the houses.  That is way better than average. We also taught some really quality lessons too. We came up with several scripture chains and mini lessons to share with people we tract into.  It's been going well. Being in this car area, it’s a little hard finding sections where there's a decent amount of Cambodian houses. But we were able to find some good neighborhoods this week and that's really the reason why we got to teach so many lessons.

We also found several new investigators through the tracting we did. Unfortunately, none of them kept their return appointments. But that’s ok.  We're still optimistic because of this family of three:  Tony, Nina and Kaitlyn.  They seem to be doing pretty well. They're happy to have us come back and are really open to learning. They might be golden. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

As far as Soroth goes we’re pretty bummed because he didn't come to church.  We're still hoping he'll be able to be baptized this month. The challenge for him will be coming out to church despite the peak of the NFL season. He really likes his football!   Plus he is getting married.  We feel blessed that we've got a good list of potentials, so we'll see where that takes us.

Things with Elder Sturgell and I are great. We work well together. We both like to work hard so that's what we do! He really is amazing.

I'm doing well, staying pretty healthy despite the chilly weather we've been having. It's tough because it seems all the Cambodians are sick right now, and half of them are for real. (Cuz often they think they're sick but they're really not.)

Fun fact: I realized the other day that I've been in this car area for the last 6 months, going around Cambodia Town! It's totally fine.  It's great in this area!  It's just weird because I feel like anywhere else, that maybe wouldn't really happen.
